Don McLeod
Since April, 2005, Don McLeod has served as the volunteer Executive Director of a New Day Youth and Family Services. Prior to this, he served on the board for five years. New Day Shelter currently is a model for other shelters around the country. New Day serves as a shelter for displaced teens. He serves on the YMCA board, Adelante board, Shriners Hospital for Children and the Intermountain board. He has worked with the Board of NAMISTE, El Rancho de Los Ninos, Explora and various other non profit agencies that serve children and families in the Albuquerque area.
He has made an indelible mark on the United Way of Central New Mexico as an outstanding philanthropist. He has been recognized locally and nationally for his philanthropic leadership. His generosity has provided a better life for countless people in New Mexico.
But, Don gives more than financial resources – he is just as generous with his time and talent. In his position with New Day he brings the best of his business, entrepreneurial and organization skills making it possible for the program to continue. Don likes to remind people that “there are no problem children, only children with problems.” He works to uncover gaps in available services for youth. His commitment to making a difference inspires others to rise to their best.
