Dr. Roger O.McClellan
Dr. McClellan is an advisor to public and private organization on toxicology and risk analysis. His truly distinguished career of public service has been spent providing advice and leadership for environmental and occupational health activities to the Untied States and International agencies. In 1966 he joined the Lovelace Foundation for Medical Education and Research sponsored by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. Over time the program became internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading centers for inhalation toxicology research.
Dr. McClellans’s first federal advisory committee service was as a member of a joint USAEC and NASA committee on health risks of space nuclear systems. From 1967 through today he has served on more than 60 major advisory committees for the U.S. EPA, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, FDA, CIA, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, among many others.
A major focus of the committees Dr. McClellan has served on has been the evaluation of human health risks from environmental or occupational exposures, pharmaceuticals or consumer products. In 1987 he served as a member of a 3 member team evaluating the
radiological impact of the Chernobyl Nuclear Accident. His leadership propelled him to serve on some of the first advisory groups concerned with non-proliferation issues including exposure to chemicals and biological agents.

His public service has extended to other areas, serving on adjunct faculty of nine universities. And, perhaps most importantly, he has encouraged and mentored many other scientist to develop the same commitment. He has guided several junior colleagues to be involved and assume leadership positions.
